Situated at the foot of Kaga Mountain, seen from
Request Guest House, is the small village of Bedford. An
historic Settler village, it is often described as the jewel
of the Eastern Cape. Here you can find many activities for
the sports enthusiast or be fascinated by the historical
architecture and the beautiful gardens which have given rise
to the annual Bedford Garden Festival.
Lying on the fringes of the Karoo Heartland and Frontier
Country, Bedford is just a 2 hour drive from Port Elizabeth,
East London and Graaf-Reinet and a mere 50 minutes from
Grahamstown. From Bedford, you only have another 15 minute
gravel road drive to the guest house.
