Apart from lazing around pool and enjoying the secluded atmosphere, you are welcome to walk in the veld and to experience the activities of a true stock farm or just for the sake of walking or hiking in the fresh air, enjoying the views and getting close to many species of antelope.

Birding

With an abundance of species, the bird watching enthusiast will be kept very busy!

Mountain Biking

There are ample tracks for serious mountain bikers to exercise themselves on in a landscape of beautiful vistas, as well as easier tracks for the whole family. We offer a special package to mountain bikers for long distance endurance training with an overnight stop in preparation for races such as the Trans Baviaans, The Cape Epic and Karoo to Coast.

Quad Bike Trails

You are welcome to bring your quad bikes.  You will not be disturbing any other guests as we only rent to one group at a time.

One of the only two parks in South Africa where the rare Mountain Zebra can be seen. This unspoilt area is a must for those who enjoy open spaces and unusual mountain topography. Scenic drives and game viewing make this an enjoyable day trip one and a half hours from Request.

Addo Elephant National Park

Addo Elephant Park is famous for Elephant and Rhino viewing. Spend the day getting close to these wonderful animals in their natural habitat. Only one and a half hours' drive from Request.

Grahamstown

Grahamstown, the heart of frontier country, with many restored Settler homes, is a modern-day melting pot of the many and varied cultures that met here and left their mark. Enjoy the youthful exuberance of its students and scholars to the quiet of its tree-lined suburban streets, its stately Victorian charms to its vibrant African rhythms. Places of interest are the Makana Botanical Gardens, 1820 Settlers National Monument, Cathedral of St. Michael and St. George and the Albany Museum Complex.
